Pinterest is the perfect spot to answer the what to do with corks question … I’ve seen pins ranging from art to decor to crafting tools during my time Pinteresting. It wasn’t until I saw the following pin that I was motivated to act though

This was the type of answer to my what to do with corks I was looking for! And, bonus points! It looked easy enough.

What to do with Corks | The Tutorial

I’m an old fan of Donna’s & a new fan of Eliza’s, if you’ve never seen her site you should really go check it out. I loved her directions, especially the confession about glue. I too lack grace when in the presence of the sticky stuff.

However, unlike Eliza, I had no shortage of wine corks at my disposal:

She explains how holding the corks for 60 seconds was enough time for her cork coaster to adhere … mine took a bit longer.

Also having a bunch of men standing around, watching you curiously, was a little nerve-wracking so I decided to finish the project the next day {once they were all off doing manly man things}

As you can see, my system had a few flaws. But I did manage to get it done.

No surprise … my creative spirit bit off more than my non-domestic self could handle. Sorry friends / family … there won’t be any cork coasters for you this holiday season. Not for lack of trying though. Just from lack of patience.

So, here it is. The one-of-a-kind cork coaster. Considering the amount of time it took {and the amount of glue that ended up all over my fingers} I think I’ll be looking for other things to do with corks.

How about you?

Do you know what to do with corks?
