Bathroom Counter | Declutter Tips
Moving from the first view, your nightstand, to the second view of the day (for most) – the bathroom counter. This space can get you off on the wrong start just as much.
Instead of the glass of water that spills all over, here you may be faced with that glob of toothpaste you rub up against … in your black pants.
Causing not only a wardrobe malfunction that sends you into a tailspin of more decisions, under pressure, but inevitably making you late for whatever destination you were headed to.
Last year I wrote a post on How to Organize Your Bathroom for the 31 Days series, considering how detailed that was I thought I would just focus on the declutter aspect this time.
To declutter is to return items to their “homes”
Taking the time, when you have it, to do a little picking up is just that … returning items to where they belong.
So when is a good time to declutter your bathroom counter?
- talk on the phone with a friend or family member
- listen to your favorite song (one song tends to be 3-5 minutes, you can get a lot done in that time)
- then there’s always the locking the door to get some peace and quiet moments
More importantly, don’t beat yourself up if your cluttered counter has to wait … a few days, weeks or even months for attention. As long as you can perform the essential duties, you’ll figure out when the best time is to declutter.
If you’re motivated by the new year & have decluttering my bathroom on the list then be sure to head on over to last year’s Bathroom Organization post. (you’ll get to see pics of my own before & after counter!)
