Welcome | Month of Shopping Habits
This month is a great time to look around at what is actually working FOR you when it comes to your shopping habits.
- Are you prone to stick to only things on sale?
- Do you gravitate to coupon deals?
- Do you find direction from the weekend ads & shop mostly from a weekly list?
Knowing what is positive in these habits is the first key to your improvement overall. For most of my clients the gap is somewhere within the discipline of how & when to spend or understanding the effect of the purchase long-term.
Brands & Marketing firms seem to do their job so well that we often find ourselves convinced that we need a product or our lives will be less than adequate. Unfortunately, with the state of our economy & job market, many of us are evaluating our situations and concluding failure since we cannot afford the next “big thing”. On the other hand, those who are cutting back are also evaluating just where their pennies will actually go.
Tune in for the upcoming weekly challenges and see what you can learn from the recommended steps:
- You Have to Shop
- When living beyond our means became a reality
- Why you buy more than you intended to
- Squirreling away purchases
- Weekend sales ads, could you go cold turkey?
- Where will this live & other in the store questions
- You are an example – even when you’re breaking bad habits
- What do you luxuriate?
- Shopping with cash only
- Coupons – how to use them wisely
- Drive by Shopping
- Retail Therapy :: impulse purchasing
- Is it really free
- Adopting a No Returns policy in your own shopping habits
Bonus Weekend Challenge::
- Honor what you own – be proud of hard-earned purchases
Then we’ll move onto Clutter Free Gift Giving, because now you’ll understand how to be that savvy shopper – right?
And don’t think I’ve forgotten about my column over on VolunteerSpot! They’ll be a getting a dose of shopping habit love too:
- Shopping for Classroom parties during the holidays
- What healthy shopping habits will you be taking into the stores this holiday?
- How to be the ultimate gift giver this season – w/out breaking the bank or cluttering up the recipient’s home
You might be wondering how I know all this “stuff”. It comes from my work with hoarders. After watching clients confess their desire to “not live this way anymore” and yet still purchase chronically I began researching why as well as what I could do to help as the professional.
I’m so excited to share all this knowledge with you and look forward to hearing any feedback you may have!
Also, I promise that if you give it every bit of effort you have – I’ll give you every bit of knowledge & experience I have. By the end of the month you’ll have the tools for a healthier shopping lifestyle.
Would love to pick up the conversation below, in each post or over on The Mental Clutter Facebook Page
